Sonbhadra is a district located in the southeastern part of the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India. It is the second-largest district in the state and is situated along the border with the state of Madhya Pradesh. Sonbhadra is located approximately 400 kilometers southeast of the state capital, Lucknow. The district is known for its rich mineral resources, including coal, limestone, and bauxite, and is home to several large-scale industries, including the Hindalco Industries aluminium plant and the NTPC Vindhyachal power plant. The region is also known for its natural beauty, with several scenic waterfalls, hills, and forests.
