Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Java Developer Fresher to join our team. In this role, you will learn and work with Java to develop efficient and scalable software solutions. You will be responsible for writing clean and maintainable code, assisting in the development and testing of applications, and collaborating with team members to solve technical challenges. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of core Java concepts. Basic knowledge of databases and version control tools is a plus. Strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a team are essential. Students graduating in the year 2025 with Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology, Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, or Master of Computer Applications degrees in any stream such as Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, etc., are eligible to apply. The candidate should hold United States, United Kingdom, or Canada citizenship, passport, or permanent residence. They should be willing to relocate to the United Kingdom, United States, or Canada after training. Candidates must have above sixty percent throughout their studies with no backlogs. The shortlisted candidate will be provided with an internship opportunity during their final semester. There will be a two-year service agreement upon joining Virtusa, with a one-year waiver if the candidate pursues higher studies
Key Responsibilities:
- Support, maintain and enhance existing web based and desktop client/server database applications.
- Design and develop new features all the way from idea to implementation
- Work effectively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines
- Conduct research to stay updated with the latest advancements in existing tools and support any technology upgrades.
- Take ownership of existing features and complete tasks using strong organization skills and with attention to detail
- Optimize web applications for performance, scalability, and security.
- Write thorough documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/engineering.
- Basic understanding on HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, JSP/Servlets.
- Basic knowledge Oracle with query writing using SQL and PL/SQL as an asset
- Strong desire to learn Oracle EBS applications and Oracle APEX is a plus
- Work as a team player, appropriately exhibiting a positive attitude.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
